We place high importance on providing unbiased general consumer information along with helpful financial education to enable our members to acquire the information they need to gain the skills necessary to make sound purchasing, borrowing, and money-management decisions essential to achieving their goals.

1. Newsletter - The credit union publishes a quarterly newsletter to bring to the members' attention current issues, new services, rates and other various information. We also feature "Dollar Power, Money Facts for Young Adults." These educational articles focus on providing information on special financial topics to help students make good financial decisions and learn good money-management skills.

2. Web Site - To help our members plan their money-management strategies we encourage our members to access "Members' Financial Network." It provides comprehensive online financial services including online brokerage service, a wealth of money-management advice, various workbooks, and over a dozen financial calculators that help with all aspects of personal finances.

3. Web Carbook - The most accurate and comprehensive vehicle information available including: invoice and MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price), pictures, standard and optional equipment, technical specifications, warranty, road test, safety information, and more.

For used vehicles, it contains data on used vehicles for the last ten years. Members can get wholesale and retail values based on condition, mileage, and location.

Resource Library  - In our lobbies we have free consumer information pertaining to a variety of topics such as: Home Buying Workbook; Vehicle Buying and Leasing Guide A Guide to Student Financial Aid; Out of Hock & Out of Debt" - a handbook on reducing credit card and personal debt - a Job Hunting Handbook, and "Surviving a Layoff" - a handbook on managing stress, family, and finances.

5. High School Student Visit - On occasion, high school teachers call us and request to have us present a segment on financial issues. We go through the process of opening up accounts, the ramifications of writing NSF checks, credit reporting, and the loan interviewing process. We know that the students learn a lot from the questions and comments we get after the sessions. These sessions are conducted by the teller supervisor, loan manager and marketing director.

6. Employee Orientation -We have developed an excellent training program that is maintained by an on-staff trainer. New employees learn about the historical development of credit unions as a worldwide movement. How a credit union is organized. How credit unions differ in purpose, spirit, and operation from other financial institutions.
